Parade of Ships Festival of Sail Tickets

Parade of Sail – Festival of Sail

Join the celebration as part of the flotilla of ships that sails into San Diego Bay to kick off Festival of Sail! Sail in a Tall Ship Parade! Sail from the mouth of San Diego Bay, past Shelter Island, Harbor Island, Downtown, and back to the Maritime Museum. Be one of the first to see the San Salvador with her sails flying.

*Parade Ships taking passengers: Cloudia, Bill of Rights, Curlew, Exy/Irving Johnson, Spirit of Dana Point

Friday September 2nd 10:45am to ~3:30pm Ticket range, $60.00 to $40.00

Parade itinerary:

Your ticket to a world of sail. Good for any one day during Festival of Sail. See all the Maritime Museums ships and exhibits, plus explore visiting ships, see exciting demonstrations, kids zone activities, beer gardens and a world of maritime fun!

San Diego Chicken

A special appearance of the San Diego Chicken Sept 4 from 1-3pm at Festival of Sail. The Chicken will be posing for pictures and greeting guests.

Pilot Bay Cruise Festival of Sail Tickets

Bay Cruises aboard Pilot – Festival of Sail

Take a special Festival of Sail 30 minute Historic Bay Cruise aboard Pilot, our 1914 pilot boat.

Pilot is the oldest active pilot boat in the country. She is a San Diego original, built in 1914 close to her present location and having spent her entire career working on San Diego Bay, but she is far from retired! Bay cruises, floating classroom, private events, and still used by bay pilots for special occasions, Pilot could very well be the most active boat ever made!

Cannon Battle Festival of Sail Tickets

Cannon Battles – Festival of Sail

Join the Tall Ship crews and revel in the experience of tall ship sailing while we engage opposing ships in a mock Cannon battle on the bay. Two ships leave but only one comes back victorious. Enjoy some adventure, 1800’s style!

Two battles per day. 10:30am to 1:30pm & 2:30 to 5:30pm

Mid-day Sail – Festival of Sail

Enjoy the opportunity to take a special Festival of Sail 2 hour Mid-day Sail aboard a classic sailboat.

Sailing during some of the best wind of the day, the Mid-day sails always generate a fair amount of oohs and ahhs. Enjoy being on a truly classic yacht, speedsters of a time gone by.

Check-in ends at 1:30pm for a 2 hour sail. A portion of the afternoon Tall Ship cannon battles is viewable by the Mid-Day Sail.

Swift Boat Festival of Sail Tickets

Swift Boat Cruise – Festival of Sail

A special Festival of Sail 30 minute cruise that highlights San Diego Bays Military History aboard PCF 816 Patrol Craft Fast – Swift Boat.

The Swift Boat Sailors Association brought this Swift Boat to the Maritime Museum of San Diego to be restored and operated on San Diego Bay. Museum visitors now have the opportunity to experience the sound and feel of the two V12 Supercharged Detroit diesels delivering 980 horsepower while touring on the bay.

Take a special Festival of Sail 2 hour Twilight Cruise aboard a classic sailboat.

Started in 2010, Twilight Sail proved so popular we have brought them back for each Festival of Sail, and why not? These are the moments that make memories, the perfect way to end a perfect day on the water.

Hours 9am to 9pm (8pm after Labor Day weekend). Your ticket is good for all day, you can leave for lunch and come back to keep exploring.

**At times one or more ships may be off exhibit due to maintenance or special events. You may want to call ahead if there is a particular ship you wanted to explore.

Tall Ship Adventure aboard Californian*

Tall Ship Adventure Sail is a three-hour adventure history sail aboard the schooner Californian.

Join the crew in sailing a traditionally rigged tall ship. Passengers will be invited to haul a line, man the helm and end their day with a cannon salute.

Most Sundays, 11:30 to 3:00pm Tickets range, $60.00 to $44.00

  • Check-in ends at 11:30am
  • Sail is 3 hours and returns to the museum at 3pm
  • You can check-in as early as 9am, enjoy the Museum before and/or after your sail. Ticket includes general admission.
  • Schedule is subject to change. Any new times will be noted on ticket.

Swift Boat Tour Tickets

Swift Boat Tour

75 minute narrated tour aboard a Historic Swift Boat PCF816.

Feel the history & power of the twin 12 cylinder Detroit Diesels as you take a behind the scenes tour of San Diego Bays military history. Tour route heads under Coronado Bay Bridge, Naval Base San Diego, and then Naval Amphibious Base. It then heads back by the aircraft carrier basin and Naval Air Station North Island before returning to the Museum.

Enjoy this unique one of a kind adventure. Two tours daily: Saturday & Sunday.

  • This is a narrated tour describing PCF 816 ‘s role in the U.S., Malta, Viet Nam, Swift Boat sailors, and the above establishments on the Bay.

Night Of The Living Buccaneer

A Haunted Pirate Party for Adults, 21 and up!

Join us at the Maritime Tavern, the ghostly and mysterious pirate pub appearing for one night only! Saturday, October 22, 2016, 8pm-Midnight

The Maritime Tavern located aboard the historic 1898 Steam Ferry Berkeley, who some say is haunted, will feature live music, a photo booth, dancing, and general piratical behavior for all scallywags.

This is a 21 and over event.

Aboard The Star of India. Annual event returns to the Maritime Museum of San Diego

Tim Flannery & Friends will perform their colorful blend of folk, country and traditional music and storytelling aboard the Star of India. Some of San Diego’s most popular artists have been known to join Tim Flannery for a special night of music such as Eve Selis and Steve Poltz but you never know who might show up this year.

Saturday December 17, 2016 • Ticket range, $85.00 VIP, $49.00 regular.
