Roll up your sleeves and help preserve maritime history during our Community Volunteer Day aboard the historic ships of the Maritime Museum of San Diego — back again after an amazing volunteer turnout!

Help Preserve History — One Ship at a Time

After an overwhelming response and a fantastic turnout at our last All Hands on Deck Volunteer Day, we’re excited to do it again! Join fellow community members for a rewarding day of hands-on volunteer work aboard our historic ships. From light maintenance and cleaning to special projects, your efforts will help keep the Maritime Museum in shipshape for visitors from around the world.

What You’ll Do

  • Light cleaning & polishing of ship decks and exhibits
  • Simple painting or touch-up work (optional)
  • Organizing and tidying public areas
  • Special preservation projects

Who Can Join

  • Adults 18+ (Liability Waiver & Photo Release required)
  • No experience necessary
  • Groups and individuals welcome
  • Maximum of 30 persons

What to Bring
