Volunteers and Interns

Volunteers and Interns

The collections and curatorial departments of the Maritime Museum of San Diego actively encourage the work of volunteers and interns in assisting the museum to fulfill its goal of collecting, preserving, and presenting all aspects of Pacific maritime history and culture.
Museum staff and volunteers provide on site training for new volunteers.  Projects include the identification, cataloging and preservation of historic photographs, books, periodicals, ships’ plans, charts, and maritime-related documents, ephemera, artwork, and objects.
The museum also participates in a multi-level internship program, actively recruiting from local colleges and schools.  Interns from San Diego State University, Point Loma Nazarene University, San Jose State, and High Tech High, have made valuable contributions to our ongoing mission.

We invite you to join with us as either a volunteer or intern.
